                             A brief history of our ranch:

We are located on the western edge of the Red River Valley in northeastern North Dakota. 

We operate as a family partnership with three brothers as partners: Dean, Roger, and Curtis. 

Curtis is the managing partner for our registered breeding stock business.  Our operation

is headquartered on the 1/4 section of land homesteaded by our grandparents in 1883,

when they emigrated from Iceland.  When they arrived here, they had 65 cents left in their

pockets with which to begin a new way of life in a very challenging environment.  In addition to

our 250 brood cow registered Simmental herd, we also operate a sizable tillable farming operation and 

an earthmoving construction business.   We hold an annual production sale in Rugby, North Dakota in

partnership with Bata Simmentals.  Please mark your calendars for Tuesday, February 9th, 2010 for our 13th

Annual Sale.

          Solid black.  This Olie calf was the lead-off bull in our sale.  He is a real powerhouse and has a very rare combination of
          calving ease, rippling muscle, tremendous thickness and high performance.  He had the lowest birth weight at 83 lbs, and the highest
          adjusted yearling weight at 1530 lbs, of any calf in our offering.   Check out his EPDs and his API and TI indexes and his large 
          scrotal measurement, and you will know that it will be a challenge to find one anywhere this good.   We retained a 1/3 semen interest.
